Anti-Raging Committee

To avoid ragging SMCH has taken steps to follow strictly the guidelines according to the Prevention and Prohibition of Ragging in Medical Colleges/Institutions, Regulations 2009 as notified by the Medical Council of India. Undertaking will have to be submitted by the Parent/Guardian as well as individual students according to the notification given below

The Anti-Ragging Committee and the Anti-Ragging Squad are constituted to force immediately. The following are the members in respective committees.
Hence all the staff members and students are requested to cooperate in totally preventing Ragging. Staff and students are also requested to keep a watch on the student’s movement to prevent Ragging incidences and to report if any such incidences take place immediately to either committee member or the Nodal Officer.

With regard to the Supreme Court Judgment and guidelines issued in 1997 to provide for the effective enforcement of the basic human right of gender equality and guarantee against sexual harassment and abuse, more particularly against sexual harassment at work places, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued circulars since 1998,, to all the universities, advising them to establish a permanent cell and a committee and to develop guidelines to combat sexual harassment , violence against women and ragging at the universities and colleges. It has further advised the universities to be proactive by developing a conductive atmosphere on the campus, where the status of woman is respected and they are treated with. Keeping the above guidelines in view Subbaiah Institute of Medical Sciences has constituted a Committee Against Gender Harassment.
